CHIVALRY'S NOT DEAD

Hi friends!

It has been such a fun week here in Vacaville!! I was definitely sad to leave so many people that I loved in Napa but I have felt so welcome here already and I am so excited to work here for the next few months! My companions name is Hermana Ferrel and turns out we went to high school together!! She was a grade younger, so we didnt know each other, but we have a few mutual friends. Her family is back in Colorado now so it wont be as easy as it seems to hang out after the mission, but it is still fun to have that connection. I love her so much already! She is one of the most genuinly kind people I have ever met and i am so excited to get to learn from over the next few weeks.

We have a couple people we are teaching right now. Ones name is Carlos. He is 13 and he comes to church almost every week. He has had all the lessons and wants to be baptized, but the problem is that his Dad wont give him permission. We think that one of the reasons is because his nephew, Joshua, who is 10, got baptized a little while ago, but now isnt super active. So we think that if we can get Joshua coming again that mayve that would help his Dad to not be so hesitant.

We are also working with a guy named Peter. Peter was introduced to the gospel because he is dating a member. He was looking for a new church and his girlfriendn suggested ours, but made sure that she wasnt pushing him at all. She wanted to make sure that if he went forward with everything, he did it for himself and not for her, which is awesome. So he decided to take the lessons and he prepped to take them by starting to live all of the standards that his girlfriend was living so he was golden from the time we actually got the referral. We are hoping to set a baptismal date with him tonight! He is so ready!!

We are piloting and english class program for our mission and it is awesome! We have a few people come every time and Hermana Ferrel says they have been progressing. Its held at the church so it is a great way for them to be introduced to the buliding and form good relationships with the people. One of the students came to the ward christmas party on saturday and then invited us over to his house so that his wife could teach us how to make flan and tortillas!! We are so excited haha!

Our biggest blessing of the week is that we had to take our car into the shop today because of stuff that happened multiple transfers ago that never got reported, but we dont get it back until friday and the mission doesnt have any replacement cars right now so that was going to put us on bike for the week. The problem with that is that we cover the entire stake for spanish, so we have people to visit allll over Vacaville. There are some elders in our district, however, that cover a much smaller section of Vacaville and they were willing to give us their car for the next few days and take the bikes. Isnt that so nice??? We are super super grateful! We did get to ride them to their apartment today though so that was fun!

Well I am in the best area with the best companion and the best fellow missionaries. It's a great day to be a missionary!!

love,
Hermana Galli
