HAPPY THANKSGIVING
Hey friends! I hope you all had a fantastic thanksgiving!! Remember to keep being grateful throughout the rest of the year ๐ also are you pumped or are you pumped that the Christmas season is in full swing!? I'M SO EXCITED! And if you haven't watched the new Light the World video yet I highly recommend doing that! There's no better way to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ than by serving the people around us as he did.
We had a lesson with our investigator who came to church and hated it so that was interesting. He really likes us and having us come over but didn't feel like he learned anything at church because it was testimony meeting and in our gospel principles class, they just read the book and don't really use scriptures and it's not a discussion. We think he is more interested in the "facts and numbers" so he wants to have doctrinal discussions all the time but isn't as interested in the spirit and how it makes him feel. Anyways he came back again this Sunday but just for sacrament meeting. We haven't had a chance to talk to him yet but are praying he had a better experience!
We've been meeting with Manuel for a while and he is praying and reading the book of Mormon and has come to church a few times and is super awesome but is having a hard time understanding that there wasn't the proper authority when he was baptized before. The scripture that catches his attention is the "one lord, one faith, one baptism" one in thr bible and is afraid that if he gets baptized again he will condemn himself because the bible says one baptism. But our ward mission leader is super awesome and invited him to family home evening and we watched a really old first vision video and in it they talk about that scripture so we are hoping that resonates with him a little. He also doesnt feel like he is getting answers to his prayers which is frustrating for both of us because he really wants to know. Our next plan is to have a lesson on just personal revelation through the holy ghost and we hope we can help him to figure out how he recognizes answers. We really hope he gets that soon!
We had two thanksgiving dinners this week! A less active family fed us and that was f
Fun because it was real thanksgiving food and was super good! And then Agustin fed us after because he just loves to have us over and we are okay with that because his food is amazing! He's feeding us again tonight lol. Our thanksgiving was pretty normal other than that. We spent a while making treats for some investigators and our ward mission leader and delivering them. Then we had a couple lessons and did this program called my plan that hermana Hansen has to do since its her last transfer (im so sad shes going home in 3 weeks ๐ญ)
Funny story of the week: sister Rรถmer wanted to make homemade bread but she mixed up the teaspoons and tablespoons so she accidentally but in 1/2 the amount of yeast and 3x the amount of salt that she needed. We have no idea how it actually turned out as bread but somehow it worked and as long as you put jam on it you can't taste the salt ๐
Also sister Morrison had a meeting on Friday so we were with sister Rรถmer all day and went to dinner in her area and so I have now eaten with a white family twice since being here and BOTH TIMES were vegan or vegetarian. WHAT DO WHITE PEOPLE HAVE AGAINST MEAT? I don't get it hahaha but I think it's funny that both times that happened.
Lastly I just wanted to say that the things I'm most grateful for right now are my Heavenly Father and his plan for me, my savior and his role in it, and my family. When everything is hard or nothing is going right, being able to rely on those things gets me through it all. I am eternally grateful that my father's plan ensures that because of Jesus Christ I can be with my family forever ❤
I hope you all have a fantastic week!
love,
