SPIRITUALLY GROWING
I wrote Madi earlier this week and asked her to tell me how she thinks she has grown spiritually since leaving on a mission. This was her response and I wanted to share it with you all, as it was a testimony builder for me.
That's honestly a really hard question and I'm not sure how to answer at this point. Right now, I think the best way I can answer is through what I am learning. I think one of the biggest things I'm learning is how to rely fully on God. This has been the hardest 2 1/2 months of my life but I've never felt so loved by God. "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not on thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him and He shall direct the paths" has always been my favorite scripture, but i didn't know what it meant until now. I still am learning. Learning a language is really frustrating and putting all your effort into helping someone feel the spirit to not have them keep commitments or following promptings to knock on doors with no answer can be exhausting. But the Lord has a plan. He needs you to trust him but what's equally as important is proving to him that he can trust you. Little by little the relationship grows on both ends. As I've learned to trust God, he can see that he can trust me with his children that he loves so much. Learning to trust the Lord is a slow process. I still have so much to learn. But everyday I pray for strength to align my will with His and little by little, the change is happening. I am becoming his servant. I am so far from a perfect missionary but I am learning how to love the process of becoming his servant, becoming who I was meant to be, becoming His, and becoming myself.
