I LOVE KIDS
Hi friends!
this was a fun week! I went on exchanges with my STL Sister
Triggs and it was super fun! She found out that I am not a big fan of exchanges
and so she was determined to make it my best exchange ever and it
definitely was! first, she bought me Panera to try to buy me.. it worked. Utah
needs to get it together and get a Panera by the time I get back. Then we were
tracting and it was cool because she didnt have a place in mind, she just kind
of drove to a street. Turns out it was exactly where we needed to be. That
morning, they had done service for one of their members who had afterwards made
them promise to go visit her friend. Sister Triggs had forgotten about this and
as we were tracting this neighborhood, we came across the street where she
lives and got to visit her and have a really great conversation and make a
return appointment! It was super awesome. It ended up being a really good
exchange.
Leticia's baptism has been kind of crazy to plan
because there have been some issues since we are teaching her, but she is
actually going to a different ward. But we have gotten everything figured out
so far and as long as she passes her baptismal interview (to our knowledge, there
is nothing that would keep her from passing) she is set to be baptized on
saturday!! We are so excited!!
We have been teaching Maricela, Marta, and Carla which has
been super awesome and then in our last lesson, Maricelas husband got home and
just asked if he could sit in and then the 2 sons came too and we were so
excited!! THey were going to come to church too but had an emergency last
minute so hopefully we have some good lessons this week and they can make it
next week!
Yesterday was fast Sunday and it was the best day! You know
why?? KIDS!! Do you know the last time I saw a bunch of kids get up to bear
their testimony on fast sunday? JULY. That is my favorite thing. i just love
kids. I love how they just have no fear. Their testimonies are so simple and so
sweet and all they want to do is tell everybody. Because of it, I was thinking
a little bit about how great little children are and how we have been
instructed to become like little children. As we grow up, we get distracted so
easily by so many worldly things, we get caught up in issues that dont matter,
we fear peoples opinions and so much more. Sometimes we just need to take a
moment and consider the pure love that children have and figure out how we can
be a little more like that. They can be such examples and I am so grateful to
be so surrounded by so many kids again.
I hope you all have a fantastic week! I love you all!
love,

scripture of the week: Mosiah 3:19 For the natural man is an
enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever and
ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the
natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord, and
becometh as a child, submissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing
to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon him, even as a
child doth submit to his father.
