CHANGING AREAS AND CHANGING HEARTS

Hi friends!

Transfers are here once again and after a quick 3 transfers with Hermana Young (plus the MTC) we are being separated :( I will miss her TONS but I think a change will be good for the area and for both of us. She is headed up to Ukiah and then the Napa 1st ward and Napa 2nd ward areas are combining so me and Hermana Gardner will now be companions and we will cover both wards! It's going to be interesting because they meet at the same time so we have to figure out how to rotate Sunday meetings, dinners, and ward council. So there's a few kinks to work out but I am definitely excited! This transfer will be a few firsts for me: first time staying in an area longer than 3 transfers, first time covering multiple wards, first time with a companion who has been out for less time than I have, and first time in a 2 man apartment. I'm looking forward to the growth that I think will come from some of these changes and the challenges that will accompany them. The biggest concern I have is that I have no idea how we are going to kill all the spiders that show up in our apartment as we both tend to scream and run away while Hermana Young takes care of it. Any tips you have on how to overcome a deathly fear of spiders or how to kill them long distance would be GREATLY appreciated 😁 other than that I think it is going to be a great transfer!!

The most exciting part of my week: LIZ AND BELLA GOT BAPTIZED!!! Their original date was for Saturday but we didn't think it was going to happen because of some unresolved family issues that they were waiting on. But then we had a lesson on Monday and at nearly they end they said "oh hey, we have some news for you! We want to get baptized soon anyways!" YAY!! Liz told us she had thought about it and she just felt like it was Satan trying to get them to delay doing what God wanted them to do and so they weren't going to fall for that anymore. They're the best! They have so much faith and I know the decision they made will bless their family. The baptismal service was beautiful and we had lots of support from the ward. They looked so happy and the spirit was so strong. There's nothing like seeing the people you've been working with so long, finally walk into the font and make those promises with God. I'm so blessed to have been apart of their journey.

If any of you are looking for a conference talk recommendation, I'd check out "The privilege of prayer" from October 2011 or "Turn to Him and Answers Will Come" from October 2015. Both aren't very long but both have made an impact on me recently. 😊

I hope you all had a fantastic week! I love you!

love,

Scripture of the week: Mosiah 18:30 And now it came to pass that all this was done in Mormon, yea, by the waters of Mormon, in the forest that was near the waters of Mormon; yea, the place of Mormon, the waters of Mormon, the forest of Mormon, how beautiful are they to the eyes of them who there came to the knowledge of their Redeemer; yea, and how blessed are they, for they shall sing to his praise forever.
