HAPPY HALLOWEEN
Hi friends!
So this week has been pretty crazy, but also LOTS of fun! Hermana Gardner and I dropped off our companions in Santa Rosa and then headed back to Napa to try to figure out how to combine our areas. We have had a lot of planning and organizing to do to get things figured out, but between all of that, we have still seen some really awesome miracles!
First, after months of not seeing eye to eye with our ward mission leader about the ward mission plan, we might finally have found something that we both can agree on! it combines both the need to increase our own gospel living and sharing those blessings with others. We are excited!
Second, we havent been able to get in contact with Rose or Eric for weeks. They are some of favorite people so I had been really upset about it. This week we decided to go all in with the contact attempts. After just trying to let them know that we love and miss them through facebook, texting, and family members ROSE FINALLY RESPONDED!!!! It was just this morning and I was basically bouncing off the walls with excitement. Hopefully we will get to see them later this week and reestablish a good relationship.
Third, we have several referrals in the 2nd ward. We were able to contact a lady named Glenda who is actually a member but wants to come back and wants her son to learn about the gospel, so we have a lesson with them this week. There is also this guy named Travis who is the husband of one of the counselors in the young womens presidency and already comes to church every week. We think that nobody has been bold enough to just ask him if he wants to be baptized so we set up a lesson with them this week too. And then there was this other guy who has a member friend in Vallejo who told him to check out the church. So he just walked into church and stayed for ALL 3 HOURS!! AND PARTICIPATED!! We have a lesson with him this week too. So basically there are lots of things happening in our 2 wards and even though I have never felt like I have so many things to do and not enough time, I couldnt be more excited to take on this challenge.
One other crazy thing about this week is that I went on splits for the first time on my mission. But not just splits where we picked a night and went out with members to visit people. No, no. We went on splits DURING church! We had things we needed to do in both wards, so we called some members to pick us up and take us to ward council and then church and it was WILD. It was one of the most stressful things I have ever experienced, honestly. I felt like I was running around like a lone chicken with its head cut off, but there was good that came from it. Hermana Gardner was able to talk to lots of the people that we needed to talk to in the 2nd ward and I was able to see Liz and Bella get sustained and help out our primary presidency by teaching sharing time, and we both felt a lot closer to the members we went with after the split was over. I dont know if we will do it again, but I am grateful for the experience and to see that Heavenly Father helps me do things that I am beyond nervous about, but that I need to do.
and finally, a new segment that I am intoducing into my weeklies called "Galli Goofed"
This weeks event takes place at the home of Bishop and Lori Candland. (thank goodness bishop wasnt there). So there we were, having a great dinner with Lori Candland when she stops and asks if we like applesauce because she makes her own and has lots of it. Of course we said yes. So she gets up to get some and is behind me in the kitchen. What I didnt know is that she put the entire pint into a bowl for us to share and had given me a little spoon to eat it with. What i thought happened is she put some for me in a bowl with a spoon (yes it was a lot, and yes it was a large spoon, but i wasnt going to ask questions). Then she went back into the kitchen so i assumed when she came back that she had brought some for Hermana Gardner, but wasnt paying enough attention to know that she hadnt. So we keep eating dinner and are almost done when Sister Candland finally notices that I am just eating from the bowl and says "Oh, honey, that was for both of you!" Guys, I dont get embarrassed that easily, but i went SO RED. Hermana Gardner burst out laughing because she knew what was going on the whole time and had been holding it in. So Sister Candland got more for Hermana Gardner, I finished my giant serving (it was probably the best apple sauce I've ever had so at least that was a plus) and it became a joke the rest of the night about how I dont share and I shouldnt be trusted with applesauce. The end.
If you have made it this far in my email, I applaud you. You get a sticker! Really though, sorry this was so long, its just been an eventful week. I hope you are all doing well. I LOVE YOU! Have a happy halloween and send me pictures of your costumes :D

scripture of the week: Alma 26:11-12 "11 But Ammon said unto him: I do not boast in my own strength, nor in my own wisdom; but behold, my joy is full, yea, my heart is brim with joy, and I will rejoice in my God.
12 Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever"
