HAPPY OCTOBER

Hi friends!! Can I just start by saying I am PUMPED that it is day 1 of the best 3 months of the year?? And there's no better place to spend them than in the Lords vineyard! It's gonna be SO FUN!!

Well this week was quite a week! Hermana Young and I are doing SO GOOD and just loving it here in Napa!

To start we had a great lesson with Liz and Bella on Monday night! Bella has always been a little timid around us but she completely opened up to us and WE JUST LOVE HER SO MUCH!! We are so excited to see how prepared they are for their baptism that is coming fast! As we've taught Liz and Bella I am noticing what it truly means to endure to the end. Despite all the trials they have gone through in the last few months they are whole heartedly ready to continue in the gospel and their faith in Jesus Christ.

And then we had such a good lesson with Maddie(our cute recent convert) and watched a talk by Dieter F. Uchtdorf that really explains that we can have our hapily ever after but it won't be freely given to us. I think that was exactly what Maddie needed to hear. Her sweet spirit is growing and realizing that the gospel doesn't necessarily make life easy, but it does make life worth it. As I've seen her grow in her testimony and need for the gospel I'm realizing my own need for it. The gospel isn't a just-in-case back-up plan. It is every plan and the only plan. If we are in need of any comfort, consolation, peace, mercy, justice, grace, or love we find it all within the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Then we had exchanges on Tuesday with the Sisters in St Helena and I spent Wednesday with Hermana Gabler in Napa. Hermana Gabler has been out for just about 4 months and it is so crazy to think that was me not too long ago!! I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M MORE THAN NINE MONTHS PAST THAT!!! WHAT?! We ended our exchange by going to a baptism for a family of 6 that the other sisters we live with have been teaching. Being able to witness an entire family make thay covenant was honestly incredible. There was such a sweet and strong spirit in that room and definitely the testimony that the gospel really does bless families!

Then, to end our week MICHAEL VANDENBERG (who is 17) BROUGHT TWO FRIENDS TO CHURCH(WHAT A SUPER MEMBER MISSIONARY!!!!!) And at the linger longer after church, he was negotiating endlessly to see what he could do to get them to come again (like praying for his friend to place at her regional wrestling match) It is so great to be in a ward where the youth are SO ready and excited to share the gospel!! He has inspired me in how I want to be able to share the gospel when I'm back home.

SO! In conclusion: I LOVE Hermana Young! I LOVE Napa, CA! And I LOVE this calling I have right now to be a missionary and see all the tender mercies that the Lord is placing along my path!

Have a wonderful week and don't forget to watch conference and invite a friend to watch it with you!! 😉

love,

Scripture of the week: Romans 10:13-15
"13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!"
