EL TEMPLO

Hi friends!

This week; has been crazy. Everytime we get asked how we are doing Hermana Gardner and I's first thought is "tired" BUT it is always good to be busy, especially as a missionary so no complaints here :D

So last Monday we had a lesson with Liz and Bella and as it turned out, they couldnt go to the temple on Saturday so we started discussing different options and Bella wanted to go as soon as possible (so did we but we did our best not to pressure them haha) but they decided to just move it up a few days and we got to go last Wednesday! It was INCREDIBLE. I had never been to the Sacramento temple before and it is beautiful. It was dark by the time we got there, so it was all it up and Liz and Bella thought it was so cool and wanted to show all their friends. They loved it! Bella got to be baptized and confirmed for one of her great-grandmas and she told us about how she had a really neat, spiritual experience during the confirmations. The temple was really busy so Hermana Gardner and I didnt get to do any baptisms, but it was amazing to just be in the temple and to get to witness them participate in temple work. It is a night that I will never forget.

We had zone conference this week and it was great! It was all about finding new people to teach and Hermana Gardner and I both left with a few ideas and a desire to try some new things so we are excited to work on that and figure out how we can better find people to teach in our area. A large portion of the conference we spent doing family history. President Meservy is really  pushing the importance of family history right now and he is really excited to better use it as a finding tool, but he also knows that we wont be able to help other people do it if we, ourselves, dont know how. So he is encouraging all of us to work on our own family history and GUYS ITS SO FUN!! nobody ever told me how great it was!!! or they probably did but I didnt have ears to hear i guess. I always assumed that there wasnt anything to do because so much of mine is already done, but the thing is, I didnt get what you actually did when you did family history. Hermana Gardner has helped introduce me to it a lot and its my new favorite thing. I even fell asleep doing it the other night. Before we went to the temple, I already found 7 names and it was so exciting!! so moral of the story: if you dont know how to do family history, talk to somebody who does and learn. you will love it, i promise!!

Okay so heres a story. We were teaching this fella named Isaac, he is the 28 year old that just showed up to church on his own, and we had a lesson with him this week and afterwards, we both felt a little weird about it. We couldnt really see potential for him to learn because he is pretty set and comfortable with what he believes, and we were a little confused about why he was meeting with us. He asked to meet again the next day, but it would be our first lesson with just him and the two of us so we had to meet at a Starbucks instead of a members house. We started asking him some of the questions that we had and basically what we found out (even if he didn't directly say it) was that he was looking for a relationship and we are 95% sure he wasn't into hermana Gardner. SO the next day we had to meet with him again and basically break up with him. It was a little u comfortable but it was probably for the best. He still came to church one Sunday so hopefully it wasn't too bad and the gospel will still get into his heart some day.

Well that's all for now! I hope you're having an excellent November and aren't too cold yet. Love you lots ❤

love,
