HEY 2019
Feliz año amigos!!
Man I am just loving it here in Vacaville! We have got so
many great things going. Most excitingly is that Peter got interviewed for the
temple and the priesthood and so he is going to be ordained next Sunday and
then we are going to go to the temple with him on saturday!! Woohoo! It's going
to be the best day! He told us that he is excited too so hopefully he has a
good experience. We are going to do family history with him this week so he can
be prepared. The coolest thing though is that he is actually a pro at Geneology
already and has a lot done so all we really have to do is get it in family
search so he can take the names to the temple. It'll be super easy and super
great!!
We are also teaching this young couple named Ryan and Wendy.
They have 2 young kids and were introduced to the gospel by Ryan's sister, who
is a returning member in Fairfield. We have been trying so hard to meet with
them because they have really strong desires to change their lives and they
know this is the right thing for them, but they are just really busy. The
biggest tender mercy was that we hadn't had contact in 2 weeks because they
went out of town for the holidays, but then they just showed up to church
yesterday!! We were so excited!! And not only that, but we found out that they
are now engaged and goin to get married which is a huge step closer to where
they need to be yo get baptized. It was a huge blessing and we really think
they are ready to move forward. We are hoping to set a baptismal date this
week.
Super fun thing this week is that there is a member in our
ward who does tool painting and she was willing to teach us. So today we spent
a few hours learning and our little paintings look so cute! I'll send pictures
(mine is the elephant) It was lots of fun. One of my goals for the new year is
to try and learn new things so if anyone has any good suggestions on things to
try, I would love to hear!
Well friends, it's been a truly incredible year. I've spent
every day of 2018 in the work of Lord and I don't think I can tho k of a year
of my life that has been more fulfilling or made me more happy than this. I've
grown and stretched in ways I couldn't have predicted and I've gotten much
closer to my savior. My life this year has been influenced by countless people
that I can't imagine my life without anymore. Over all, I've learned that
following Gods plan is always the best idea. I testify that He really is a
loving Heavenly Father and that He knows you individually. He has a plan and if
you try to trust Him a little more every day, he will lead you to more
happiness than you can imagine. It doesn't matter what you've been doing up to
this point, you can choose today to turn to him and he will embrace you with
loving arms. I know He has a plan for me but I also know He has perfect
patience and countless back up plans because I mess up every single day. But
His plan is full of 2nd, 3rd, and 2848473947th chances so I know that everyday
I have the opportunity to be a little better than the day before. I am so
grateful for the ability to change. Never give up because He knows your
potential; he believes in you and so do I. I love you all and hope you have the
happiest new year and make it even better than the last.
